I'm at work and a) bored, b) sad, and c) hungry. Woe is me, right?
-Sidenote for Christina: It looks like they hired someone here already, but it wouldn't hurt to turn in your application if you still want to.
I got to work today and the first thing my manager said was regarding my asking off of work for the end of the week due to the services. I immediately starting to tear up and he apologized for bringing it up. It's funny how you wake up and start to think, "Well hey, I feel a little better today than I did yesterday." Then you start to go about your day and the tiniest thing or reminder brings you straight back down again.
My thoughts always run back to Tricia; how's she doing, if she's okay, if she can sleep, if she's eating. I think we all just want to give her our strength...or absorb her pain through some sort of emotional osmosis. We miss you, T. We all love you so very much. We think about you all the time and are here - completely and constantly. Anything you need, anything we can do. Whenever the time is right - please let us know.
I don't know what else to write, but I don't want to end this on a sad note. Today at work I also noticed how sometimes the genuine kindness you can get from a simple conversation with someone else will remind you of the good in the world. I talked to a guest today who sat in the lobby for a bit waiting for his ride to VA hospital. I made some comment about how pretty it was outside, and he said - "It is beautiful. My medication won't let me go in the the sun though - so I try to enjoy it from the window." He also talked about how he had just gotten over a bout of pneumonia and was feeling pretty weak. I told him I was sorry he was feeling so crummy and hoped he would feel a little better tomorrow. He told me that it was okay to be sick sometimes, and it was okay to feel down. He said his "life was good, even though it don't feel like it every day." He said that bad days make the good days feel better.
So this is more than a bad day. But even though it doesn't feel like it, life is good. And we're all lucky. Love you all.

An eventful start to the summer...
So...everyone is gone and I've been alone all day and I'm bored. So I figured I'd tell you all about my day today.
I made chocolate chip banana bread. It tastes excellent, but I burned myself on the oven while making it. Now I have a stupid red mark on my hand. I don't think I was meant to be a cook.
I washed my sheets and comforters and pillow cases, and then re-made my bed.
I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch for lunch.
I went to Goodwill with my Mom during the afternoon and I got a spoon-rest for our side of the house. There were actually 2 spoon-rests to choose from. I wanted to get the one that was in the shape of a crescent moon and had an old hag lady flying on a broom on it, but my Mom made me get the normal one.
I got a couple other things at Goodwill, including (but not limited to) 2 organizer shelves that I put in our mixing bowl cupboard to make it more organized, an earring/necklace holder that I may or may not end up using (I haven't decided yet), and a giant pillow to put on my bed (it's purple, but I figured purple matched green well enough).
I made corn chowder for dinner.
I also watched 2 and 1/2 movies today as I was cleaning/baking/organizing the kitchen. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was on TV so I watched that, I watched half of "The Princess Bride" when Andy got home from work (which was also on TV) and I will bet you all $10 that you can guess the other movie I watched.
And that was pretty much my whole day.
This is why I don't blog.

Hi Roomies!
Hey guys-
So I know you all think blogs are lame, but I thought we could try it out. Pretty much we're about the only people that will look at this but at least we can all be separate authors.
Okay so here are some South Side updates :
-We now have a chest freezer, so there is finally room in our upstairs freezer. However, we now have no room in our fridge.
-Lucy is a terrible ant hunter.
-She also greatly dislikes the stupid harness that Justine bought her. If you have yet to see her movie of the incident, I suggest you check it out.
Love you guys!
